When Sims Garden Machinery reached a century of business years, the company wanted to produce its direct mail catalogue with the theme of ‘100 Not Out.’ There’s nothing better than a historical milestone to encourage a celebratory approach to the everyday business of selling goods and services.
The catalogue is a major marketing tool for Sims – their main communication with existing and prospective customers throughout the year.
Running through the catalogue had to be a message of great service,
longevity and quality.

ashine has a great relationship with Sims. We’d already produced 7 catalogues for the company. We’ve heard the company tell stories of customers turning up at their showrooms with catalogues of yesteryear in search of specific models – catalogues they’ve inherited from their grandfather!
Bearing in mind that these are catalogues that people want to keep, ashine set about handling the design and artwork, dealing with a range of manufacturers to get the best product shots. Then we printed 117,000 catalogues and co-ordinated staged deliveries from the printer to Royal Mail.
The catalogue has been well received by Sims’ customers and manufacturers. And, besides a lot of orders, we expect several people to pop into the showroom with a copy in 10 or 20 years’ time. If not 100!
