| Even the Newdawn staff didn't understand the company’s old catalogue. Confusing and jumbled, featuring too many products, it was the very opposite of what the company needed to sell its conservatory roof components to the Trade - wholesale stockists, large scale roof fabrication companies and national conservatory suppliers.
Yet here was a company with over 30 years’ experience in the design and production of quality roofing systems for every application. Newdawn holds vast stocks at its centrally situated premises allowing fast efficient deliveries to all parts of the UK and Europe. Its dedicated technical design team ensures a programme of continuous development maintaining an industry leading reputation. Newdawn also runs an unrivalled range of training programmes covering all products and applications free of charge to all its customers. Yet it was not communicating to its lifeblood, the trade stockists, any of the benefits of a fully engineered system that allows almost any shape, size or style of conservatory roof to be built.

At ashine, we knew we had a project on our hands. We had already produced several other product brochures and point of sale materials for Newdawn. This time, the brief was a 40-page conservatory roof component catalogue, part of a stock/product rationalisation programme involving 1,240 individual components.
While looking at the task with fresh eyes, we began by working with the Newdawn sales team to understand how the products are sold and used. We actually had to assemble some items ourselves so that we could really understand what we were trying to sell. Next, we put everything into a logical order, using a simple colour code system that allowed stockists and fabricators to find what they needed quickly. Last but not least, we re-shot a large amount of product photos. Some products were even being developed as we were designing the catalogue - these had to be added late on in the process and made to work with our design concepts.
Today, Newdawn has a complete product catalogue range it can be
proud of. And its conservatory roof component catalogue does
the job perfectly.
