Hexagon UK customers a direct, approachable view into
the depth of the company’s products and services
When David Brown, Hexagon UK General Manager, spoke to ashine, he identified a big problem for the UK arm of this Swedish-owned metrology company. Its UK competitors and agents were getting enquiries more easily from the web simply because they were easier to find on Google and the like. But there was clearly more to it than that.

We could see that the issue for Hexagon UK, as for many organisations with a global site covering local countries, is a generic corporate approach that prevents them making direct, personal contact with their target audience.

In developing his brief to ashine, David Brown was thinking big. He was keen that the new Hexagon UK website would become the core of the business, the sales platform, the information bank, the communicator and growth machine. A tall order? Not a bit of it. At ashine, our high-level webmaster and graphic design skills meant we were able to meet Hexagon UK’s inspiring brief.

And that brief was quite clear:

  • create a local site specifically for the UK market
  • keep it with the global corporate site and standard
  • make the new site search engine friendly
  • ensure the site talks directly to the target audience.

Last, but not least, it was important that the audience saw, recognised and understood new offerings from Hexagon UK that it did not know existed.

Thinking about the brief, ashine suggested to Hexagon UK that the solution would be to gear the site to sales and install persuasive architecture to assist search engines and hence make the site easier to find and use.
